Jameson and Thompson Fine Art Services is a high quality custom picture framer and frame maker. We provide services such as expert fine art consultations, conservation referrals, fine art appraisals, art installation and transportation in the metropolitan Boston area.

Our main objective in custom picture framing is to provide a visually satisfying way to display and protect works of art or anything else a client chooses to preserve for posterity. Whatever is precious to our client is precious to us. This provides the basis of all our policies. The work being framed must be protected at every stage of the process. The bottom line is trust, and we provide the safety and security to have our clients feel secure with leaving their fine art property in our care.

Jameson and Thompson was established in 1985 by Dwight Jameson and Bill Thompson in a wonderful loft space in the Boston neighborhood of Jamaica Plain. Together we had ten years of accumulated experience in skilled fine art framing. Our goal was to be the best framers in town. By the time Bill Thompson left the business to pursue an artistic career in 1989, Jameson and Thompson had established a niche working primarily for art professionals at galleries, museums and corporations. Through hard work, long hours and determination, Dwight has continued the tradition of excellence in conservation framing, corporate and gallery installation and art consultation. We have grown steadily. We are extremely proud of our highly skilled staff; most of who are graduates of our great local art schools.

The 5,000 square foot facility on two floors is divided by function. We work with clients designing framing in a loft style showroom on the second floor. A large portion of this area is enclosed and used exclusively to design and make our own line of hardwood frames. The first floor is clean space for cutting mats, glass and fitting the artwork into our frames. We have an extensive flat file area for art storage. Artwork is labeled and safely stored until the framing process is complete.
