Jameson and Thompson is both a custom picture framer and a conservation picture framer. This means that the options for optimizing the display of your work increase exponentially. You are not confined to one technique, or a particular size, or a limited number or mat colors or frames to select. Some options may require more work and/or expense, but the final framing will reflect those choices.
Picture Framing
Jameson and Thompson is particularly proud to offer our own line of finished corner, hardwood frames. We also offer traditionally hand made period gold leaf frames. We have a large selection of prefinished mouldings in traditional and modern styles, and a full compliment of Nielsen aluminum frames.
Matting
We use 100% cotton rag and archival colored mats when framing works of art. These mats are acid free and help to preserve works on paper and other materials.
Glazing Products
We offer a wide range of glass and plexiglas products that include UV protective filters, anti reflective and scratch resistant properties. Our knowledgeable staff is happy to advise you on the product that is right for your art.
Specialty Framing
Whether you are looking to preserve a 3 dimensional object, textile, ceramic or other medium, Jameson and Thompson can accommodate you. Our staff will advise on products and framing styles that will transform your artwork or object into something that will be preserved and displayed in its best form.
Delivery and Installation
We offer pick up and delivery services in the Greater Boston area to our Corporate, Museum and Gallery clients. We offer additional delivery services to our clients for a competitive cost.
Our trained installers are efficient and familiar with all styles of installation, whether it is a single piece or multiple works to hang. We hang everything from mirrors and sculpture to large works of art on all types of surfaces. Our fees are very competitive; please inquire for a price quote.

In the event that a work of art is in need of conservation prior to framing, our staff can assess the type of treatment needed and assist you in making the right choices for the conservation of your artwork. We have cultivated relationships with the best conservators in the area to ensure that your artwork will be treated with the highest professional standards.
Appraisals
Jameson and Thompson can provide you with appraisal reports for an individual work of art or an entire collection. Whether you need a report for Insurance purposes, Donation, Damage and Loss assessment or division of property, Jameson and Thompson has the qualified staff to accommodate you. Each appraisal report conforms with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice and complies with the requirements of the IRS. We offer unbiased appraisal reports that represent our knowledge of Fine Art and Antiques.
Art Advisory & Consultation
Jameson and Thompson was established in 1985 and has over 20 years of Fine Art experience. We can provide professional assistance in acquiring artwork for corporate projects or individual collectors. We can assess your collection for framing updates and advise on the sale of your work either private or at auction.
Art Sales
Jameson and Thompson has a small gallery space in which we exhibit different styles of framing and art for sale. We sell mirrors, posters, maps, prints and original artwork. We are proud to exhibit work by local artists in Jamaica Plain Open Studios in September. We also participate in the JP Centre/South Main Streets First Thursday openings.
